What This Grant Funds

BEFORE BEGINNING THE APPLICATION PROCESS, READ THE FULL ANNOUNCEMENT LOCATED ON THE FULL ANNOUNCEMENT TAB. The FMCSA announces the availability of SaDIP funding for States involved in the collection, analysis, and reporting of large truck and bus crash and inspection data to improve the quality of the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) data reported by States to FMCSA. Eligible awardees for SaDIP funding include States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Specifically, applications are sought that will improve the timeliness, efficiency, accuracy, and completeness of State processes and systems. The FMCSA provides SaDIP funds to improve the quality of truck and bus crash and inspection data reported to FMCSA by States. States directly impacted by the severe weather associated with Hurricane Sandy may submit a written (email) request to the FMCSA grant program point of contact requesting a seven day extension of the application deadline. Please explain the reason for the extension (offices closed, loss of power, loss of internet connectivity, etc). Upon approval by the grant program manager, applications submitted under this extension must be received by 11:59:59 PM on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
