What This Grant Funds

The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL, or the Department), announces the availability of approximately $4,000,000 total costs (subject to the availability of Federal funds) for one cooperative agreement to fund a technical assistance project to increase resiliency of local communities to child labor and/or forced labor in the context of a changing climate in Nepal. The project will focus on learning and action with the following outcomes: 1. increased understanding of the link between climate change and vulnerability to child labor and/or forced labor risks; and 2. increased implementation of child-centered, gender-sensitive, and socially inclusive climate adaptation initiatives.

Who Can Apply

Any commercial, international, educational, or non-profit organization(s), including any faith-based, community-based, or public international organization(s) capable of successfully increasing the resiliency of local communities to child labor and/or forced labor in the context of a changing climate in Nepal is eligible to apply. Lack of past experience with USDOL cooperative agreements, grants, or contracts does not bar eligibility. All applicants for ILAB funding opportunities must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number and be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to applying for funding. Successful applicants will be required to ensure any sub-recipients also have a UEI number prior to receiving DOL approval of any sub-awards.
