What This Grant Funds

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on bird use of managed forest communities in the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS). The partner will select and evaluate study sites, survey breeding birds in the file, and use advanced quantitative methods to estimate detection frequencies and densities of birds species. The partner will then incorporate the information gained from these surveys into fins-scale habitat suitability models and produce a document that can be used by forest managers to make relevant decisions.
