What This Grant Funds

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research focused on understanding AIV infection and seroprevalence in understudied waterbird species as well as the movement of transmitter marked birds relative to current and previous infection status. Special emphasis of this work would focus on using pathology exams to understand the cause of death of birds that were marked with transmitters and recovered upon morality to assess disease specific signatures in movement.
