What This Grant Funds

The Department of Justice is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights, increases access to justice, supports crime victims, protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, BJA seeks proposals to strengthen the medical examiner/coroner (ME/C) system in the United States. Through this program, BJA will support grants in two focus areas by: Supporting forensic pathology fellowships. Providing resources necessary for medical examiner and coroner offices to achieve accreditation.
