What This Grant Funds

OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. Justice Counts implementation funding will support states to adopt a core set of criminal justice metrics — to collect, analyze, and share data in a timely and consistent manner — so that policymakers have access to actionable data to make policy and budgetary decisions.

Category 1: State governments Category 2: Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments) Nonprofits having a 501 (c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education Private institutions of higher education Public and state-controlled institutions of higher education For purposes of this solicitation, "state" means any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
