What This Grant Funds

OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, NIJ seeks to provide funding for operation of the Secretariat of Subcommittee 37 (SC 37) under the Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC 1) of the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC). Statutory Authority: Title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (sections 201 and 202); the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (sections 231 - 233, 235); and 28 U.S.C. § 530C.

Who Can Apply

In general, OJP expects that a prospective applicant that is sent an OJP Invitation Letter will be eligible to receive funding as described in the invitation. Under certain circumstances, however, OJP ultimately may determine that an invited applicant is not, in fact, legally eligible to receive an award. All recipients and subrecipients (including any for-profit organization) must forgo any profit or management fee.
