What This Grant Funds

OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety, protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. With this solicitation, NIJ, in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), seeks to provide supplemental funding to support multiple research activities under the NIJ Multisite Impact and Cost-Efficiency Evaluation of Veterans Treatment Courts. Statutory Authority: Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 2023 (Pub. L. No. 117-328, 136 Stat. 4459, 4537); Title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, Pub. L. No. 90-351 (sections 201-203) (codified at 34 U.S.C. §§ 10121-10123); and 28 U.S.C. § 530C.
