What This Grant Funds

The Expanding Legal Services Initiative intends to expand legal representation available to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking by funding organizations with a history of providing direct services to victims of these crimes, but that do not currently offer in-house legal representation for victims. The initial ELSI award includes a planning phase during which recipients engage in ongoing training and technical assistance to set up a legal department in the organization. Continuation funds support the direct legal services provided by the legal department established during the planning phase.
