What This Grant Funds

The OVC FY 16 Enhancing Access and Attitudinal Changes in Domestic Violence Shelters for Individuals with Disabilities competitive solicitation will seek applicants to carry out two cooperative agreements through which state domestic violence coalitions will encourage their member organizations to make not only physical changes to both facilities and operating practices (i.e., accessible bathrooms, interpreters, plain language forms, action plans) but also attitudinal changes through training and mentorship. Funding will include a research partner to do a program evaluation that should identify bases for evidence-based practice as well as gaps and resources.

Who Can Apply

Applicants are limited to state and regional Domestic Violence Coalitions. OVC welcomes applications that involve two or more entities that will carry out the funded Federal award activities; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the other(s) must be proposed as subrecipient(s). The applicant must be the entity with primary responsibility for administering the funding and managing the entire project. Only one application per lead applicant will be considered; however, a subrecipient may be part of multiple proposals.OVC may elect to make awards for applications submitted under this solicitation in future fiscal years, dependent on, among other considerations, the merit of the applications and the availability of appropriations.
