What This Grant Funds

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications to develop and lead the Global LGBTQI+ Inclusive Democracy and Empowerment (GLIDE) Fund, a global mechanism to increase access to and participation and leadership in democracy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) communities. We intend for the GLIDE Fund to be led by or have strong support from and participation by LGBTQI+ organizations and communities.

Who Can Apply

DRL welcomes applications from U.S. based and foreign based non profit organizations and nongovernment organizations (NGO) and public international organizations; private, public, or state institutions of higher education; and for profit organizations or businesses. DRL’s preference is to work with non profit entities; however, there may be some occasions when a for profit entity is best suited.
