What This Grant Funds

DRC’s program to respond to and prevent SGBV is a critical element of the U.S. Government’s foreign policy goal in the DRC to support the emergence of a stable, democratic Congo that is at peace with its neighbors and provides for the basic needs of its citizens. Under that rubric, USAID supports programs to protect vulnerable populations from physical violence and abuse and assist the DRC in its stabilization and gradual transition from a post-conflict country to a developing one.
